Glonatech S.A. member’s Bio’s

The scientific and technical team of Glonatech S.A. possesses several years of experience in the synthesis and handling of nanoparticles. Glonatech produces and markets carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and metal nanoox-ides. In addition, it offers R&D services for the development of nano-modified polymers containing CNTs. The company is currently participating in four European research projects related to the production of CNTs-based composites, mainly for the transport and electronics industries.

Stephanos Nitodas >

Dr. Stephanos Nitodas graduated with the diploma of Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering & Materials Science from the University of Rochester, New York. He possesses extensive experience in chemical vapor deposition systems for the synthesis of metal oxides and nanostructures, technologies for the production of nanostructured carbon and ceramic oxides, as well as chemical and physical modification and characterization of carbon nanostructures for incorporation into polymer and ceramic matrices. He has also expertise in the synthesis of composite polymers and ceramics with carbon nanotubes with enhanced mechanical and electrical properties for use in high strength and other applications (automotive, electronics, energy, packaging etc.).

Dr. Nitodas has worked for several years in the industry, starting from the microelectronics sector at Eaton Semiconductor and Axcelis Technologies in USA until today where he is engaged in the nanotechnology field. As a consequence, he holds a significant transfer of knowledge experience from academia to the industrial world. He has served as coordinator in 5 national and European research projects while he has been involved as partner in other 10 research projects. Dr. Nitodas is also co-author in 22 publications in peer-reviewed journals and the co-inventor in 1 international (PCT) patent. In 2001 he was awarded the Morris Cohen Distinguished Award of the Corrosion Division of the Electrochemical Society for excellence in Ph.D. thesis.

George Tsiakatouras >

Dr. George Tsiakatouras holds a Chemical Engineering Degree from the National Technical University of Athens. He obtained a Master Degree in Quality Control of Materials from the Kapodistrian University and holds a Ph.D. in the field of Nanotechnology by the University of Crete and the Foundation of Research and Technology. Programming was always a passion for George and therefore parallel with his Ph.D. thesis he completed his second degree in Computer Science at the University of Crete, Hellas.

Currently, he is pursuing his second Postgraduate Degree on Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Systems from the University of Kingston, Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Technological Institute of Piraeus, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Tsiakatouras possesses experience in the synthesis, characterization and modification of ad-hoc nanostructured carbon as well and in the development of composites with CNTs.
